What is East Pointe Christian Academy?

East Pointe Christian Academy is a children’s school ministry under East Pointe Church.

East Pointe Christian Academy exists to minister the love of Christ and the truth of God's Word to every child and their family regardless of religion, race, or culture. We are dedicated to the cause of providing quality education from a Biblical worldview. Our goal is to strengthen each child spiritually, socially, and academically through a nurturing, structured, stimulating, and safe environment. We aim to foster confidence, enthusiasm, and excellence in their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and in their educational achievements. We strive to equip each child with the necessary tools for success in life knowing that today's learners become tomorrow's leaders.

Who is the Administrator and what is their role?

Ms. Amanda Doyle is our administrator. Her role is to oversee the school (teachers, students, curriculum, etc), communicate with parents and help them feel involved,  and ensure the students feel safe and loved at EPCA.

What are the qualifications for the teachers?

All elementary teachers hold a bachelor’s degree in education. VPK teachers must have a VPK teaching certificate. All preschool teachers must go through the DCF 40 hour training for childcare.

What age(s) of children are you accepting?

We are currently offering education for 2 year olds (by Sept. 1st) through Kindergarten. Students entering our 3-year-old class must be potty trained.

What are the hours my child will be in school?

Students are in school from 9am until 12pm. Students attend school 5 days a week and we follow the Duval County Public School calendar; however, we do not observe early release dates.  For our 2 year olds, we offer a 2 day program as well as a 5 day program and for our 3 year olds, we offer a 3 day program as well as a 5 day.

We offer early morning Patriot Care (7:30-9:00am), Lunch Bunch (12:00-3:00pm), and Patriot Care extended (12:00-5:30pm) to help meet the various needs of parents and their work schedules.

What type of curriculum do you use?

EPCA uses the Abeka curriculum for our 2's, 3's, and Kindergarten. It is a Christian based curriculum that provides a strong foundation for learning. In our VPK program we use the WEE Learn Curriculum along with various elements that we tailor to our 4 yr. old program.

What do you use for communicating with parents?

We are using a software program called brightwheel, which can be accessed through an app on your phone or on the computer.

Brightwheel is an all-in-one software platform for preschools, childcare providers, camps, and after-school programs. Brightwheel helps teachers manage their day and communicate with parents, gives parents deeper insight into what their children are learning, and automates the process of managing operations for administrators. It gives parents a closer connection to their child’s learning.
